Villa Overview
A sublime Mlini villa in Dubrovnik… Just steps from the sea edge, Villa Turquoise is a contemporary, architect designed property in sought after Mlini Bay. Newly renovated, and finished beautifully with local stone, it has a light and airy yet cozy feel. Boasting a pleasing open plan living / dining / kitchen area and 3 ensuite bedrooms, plus downstairs WC, it’s a practical and attractive villa. With a small path connecting the villa to the rest of Mlini, you have escaped as soon as you arrive! Nestled on the hillside, the views out across the sea from almost any window in the villa are breath taking. And with the pool just in front of the house, taking a dip is easy. With orange and olive trees, palms and a fantastic bay tree, Mediterranean plants surround the villa and complement the sea views and those of the bay down below. There’s a BBQ area at the back of the house, also with sea views for a bit of alfresco cooking. Then dinner and drinks on the terrace is the perfect location. The pool is directly in front of the terrace and is accessed from the path around the house and/or the front terrace which leads from the living room. It is not gated nor locked, and children should be supervised at all times.Sea Nearby
The sea is openly accessible from the house – it is at the bottom of the steps accessed from the path at the entrance to the house. There are approx. 100 steps to the sea edge.Balconies, Terraces & Steps
The main bedroom has a balcony with glass balustrade and the 2nd front facing bedroom also has balustrade across the window. There are also garden terraces and steps around the house including steep steps down to the basement level (although this accesses a non-guest storage room and it is not necessary to guests use these steps). There are also internal stone stairs. Children should be supervised at all times and should not climb/play on the above. There is also first come first served parking just off the main road, then cross the road and down some steps to the house. • Mobility Rating: 2 – No road access to the house – paved/stone path with steps to the house. There are quite a few steps to get to the property from the main road and then approx. 3 steps from the path to the front door (side of house). There are a few steps down to pool level from the living room & terrace. There are 102 quite steep steps down to the sea. Access to the house either by crossing main road and down path with periodic steps or from Mlini Harbour up steep steps. Not recommended for guests with mobility issues. • Car Recommended: not necessary but optional – it is only approx. 10 minutes drive into the Old Town of Dubrovnik so a taxi doesn’t take long and isn’t too costly, or there is a bus stop nearby on the main road and there are also boats from Mlini harbour into Dubrovnik Old Town and the nearby bays of Cavtat and Plat – and also out to the Elafiti Islands. • Cable TV (TV is a Smart TV) • Wi Fi: Yes • Air Conditioning: yes aircon unit in the living room and all bedrooms. • BBQ: yesLocation Overview
After relaxing at the villa, wander down to the bay and sample one of the many delightful eateries or take a trip from the harbour out to the nearby islands. The nearby Pirate Bar, locally known as Gusar, serves up great coffee and cocktails and is a great place for some live music. Mlini has some pretty beaches in either direction and a quaint village centre harking back to its traditional mill heritage (Mlini means mills in Croatian!). Mlini is a lovely place to wander round… There’s a dive centre close by and water sports (jet ski’s and kayaks for hire) and if you tire of the beach, there’s a modern, air conditioned mall behind the Sheraton Hotel on the other side of the bay.
Mlini Bay itself is a peaceful village, part of a bigger region of Zupa Dubrovacka, spreading along the coast of crystal clear Adriatic Sea with numerous small pebbly beaches and seaside cafes. You can walk along the entire coastline of Zupa Dubrovacka using a long promenade shaded by tall Cypress trees. From here you can take the water taxi to the Old Town of Dubrovnik and back from May to October, and also to Cavtat Bay and Plat Bay, or hop on a boat to explore the lovely local Elaffiti Islands off the coast. Mlini has some lovely restaurants and a variety of small shops – while a bigger supermarket and a bank with a cash machine are available a little further on
Mlini is also very well connected with Dubrovnik Old Town (15 minutes drive), as well as with a regular boat line operating May – October. Dubrovnik Airport is also just 15 minutes away from this Dubrovnik villa with pool. The wonderful Manager can help you arrange a number of services so don’t hesitate to ask. There are lots of Things to do on the Dubrovnik Riviera like hiring a Chef for your villa, taking a Walking Tour of the Old Town of Dubrovnik, going on a Sights & Bites Tour, Wine Tasting in Dubrovnik or taking a trip to Korcula Island, taking an Excursion to the famous Old Town of Mostar, Exploring the Filming Locations of the Games of Thrones Series in Dubrovnik, Island Hopping around Dubrovnik’s own little Elaffiti Islands!
Local Area
• Beach: beaches just down the steps approx 100m from the property, 5 minutes walk (102 steps from the villa to the sea edge). A sandy/shingly beach is closest and beaches in either direction all around the bay – sandy/shingle beaches in one direction and a white pebble beach in the other).
• Grocery Store: various convenience stores around the bay. Studenac grocery store approx 800m (around 12 minutes walk) or Small Studenac (like a Spa) approx 400 m (around 10 minutes walk) on main road (shop & bakery).
• Supermarket: there is a big supermarket about 20 mins walk around the bay in the mall behind the Sheraton Hotel. There is also a Lidl and a Kaufland 5 minutes drive away.
• Restaurants and bars: in Mlini Village – a good selection all around the bay – first restaurant approx 5 minutes walk – approx 100m
• Bank: cash point approx 5 minutes walk – approx 100m (outside Dive Centre & Cafe Bar Gusar)
• Pharmacy: 15-20 minutes’ walk (Srebreno) – a doctor & nurse team is also on hand during high season for tourist care
• Boat Trips & Water Taxi to the Old Town of Dubrovnik: from Mlini Bay Harbour – approx 5-10 minutes walk
• Car/Passenger ferry: 25 minutes (Gruz Port, Dubrovnik)

We had a fantastic stay at the Villa Turquoise. It’s location in Mlini Bay was ideal, very close to bars and restaurants and lovely beaches. A bakery and supermarket were only a short walk away. We could not fault the villa. It had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean.
Mario was the perfect host, there to greet us with all the information we needed about the villa and a very generous welcome pack. He was very quick to respond to any questions we had during our stay, and he even drove us to the supermarket to stock up for the week. As there were no guests arriving on our day of departure, Mario allowed us to stay at the villa until our airport pick up in the afternoon.
I must also mention the detailed information and advice provided by Idyllic Croatia to help us find the perfect villa and location, which catered for our family’s holiday requirements. Always very quick to respond to any questions.

“We had a really lovely holiday, thank you. The villa was beautiful, very well equipped, clean, stylish and the location is perfect. It was so easy to drive from the airport but far enough away not to be bothered by planes. We loved all the restaurants and bars in the area, which are easy to walk to – the pizzas in Basillico restaurant were delicious.
Mario was great! It was really helpful that he met us and showed us where the villa was. He also gave us good local knowledge about where to shop and things to do.

We had wanted a car-free holiday where we could all be independent and be within walking distance of a beach, restaurants etc and this ticked all our boxes! Your knowledge of the area was invaluable and helped us make the right choice.
A huge thank you to Mario who collected two of us and our bags from our hotel and took us to the villa and then to the supermarket the following morning. It was incredibly kind of him and he was so helpful.
The chauffeur, Ivo, was also great and arrived in good time to take us back to the airport.
We took the local buses and water taxis up and down the coast to Dubrovnik, Cavtat, the K Center supermarket, etc. It was so easy and we loved the water taxis! We also just relaxed by the fabulous pool! The villa was lovely, super clean, well equipped and comfortable with the quietest aircon we’ve ever had and the views were amazing. It was also in a quiet location. (The steps were good for us!) Mlini was such a pretty fishing village and there were a couple of cafes and restaurants too although there were more options for dinner in Cavtat. We hired kayaks and SUPs from Srebreno beach, a short walk along the coastal path.
The whole process of booking through you and making all the arrangements went very smoothly. We loved Croatia and will be back to explore more. Thank you so much for all your help and advice.

The villa was absolutely lovely and Mario was a very pleasant host who couldn’t do enough for us.
He even cooked us a BBQ celebration dinner for us which was great.
The villa is perfectly located close to the sea with fantastic views. We were so lucky with the weather which meant the pool got plenty of use as well.
Every time we had to walk back up the 100+ steps we headed straight for the pool lol 
The location of the village of Mlini was great too. Plenty of beaches, restaurants and even a great rock band to listen to one evening.
It was also perfectly located for little sea taxis to Cavtat and Dubrovnik where we popped along to a couple of times over the two weeks.
We had so much space in the villa because it was just the two of us but I could see it would easily accommodate a family with no problems.

We were very helpfully guided by Mario to a meeting place near the villa from our arrival at the airport. He then carried our cases right to the property. Told us about the fab bakery which was on the top road. We were allowed to check in slightly earlier, then Mario drove us to the supermarket to pick up provisions. “They were so helpful and made some great recommendations for restaurants and trips. But the private boat trip they suggested was the highlight of the holiday. Mario was great too, he found us when the Uber dropped us off somewhere else. “Having stayed at many Airbnb’s all over the world, this was undoubtedly the best! Admittedly, it was our honeymoon, so we pushed the boat out, but it certainly lived up to expectations! The hosts were excellent – responsive and helpful, both prior to and during our stay. Mario even took us to the local supermarket on arrival and helped us to carry all the shopping back to the villa! “Absolutely stunning villa which was even better than the photos! Superb sea views from the pool terrace and first floor balcony. Lovely pool which was plenty big enough for the kids to splash about in. Immaculate villa with three ensuite bedrooms and ground floor WC and AC throughout. Several lovely restaurants within a ten minute walk from the villa, down the steps on the seafront. Lots of pebbly coves to sunbathe on with gentle sloping shore which was great for paddling and swimming – water shoes a must though, as some coves were more pebbly than others on entering the sea. Water taxis go regularly from Mlini harbour to Dubrovnik (25 mins) and Cavtat (20 mins), so this little village is a perfect base for exploring the coast.
