We think you will love this beautiful large Dubrovnik villa with pool. Summer Villa’s estate itself dates back to second half of 16th century. It is surrounded by lovely gardens planted with trees and Mediterranean flowers and herbs which offer the guests an unique atmosphere and complete privacy (over 20,000 sq m). With a mixture of late Gothic and renaissance styles it has been listed in the cultural heritage register of Croatia.
The interior of this large Dubrovnik villa with pool abounds with restored furniture in baroque style whose rich textures enhance its personality and charm. The villa has 5 bedrooms all en-suite one bedroom is on the ground floor which makes it ideal for grandparents – all the rooms are large and there is plenty of room for guests to find their own space.
Outside you have the pool with its integral jacuzzi – this area can be accessed through a gate from the courtyard or kept closed if you have smaller children. There is a playground to keep the children occupied and also a boules pitch and badminton court. The house manager is delightful and takes great care of our guests – we always get glowing reviews from their stay here. Summer Villa – large Dubrovnik villa with pool
“Dear Helen,
In response to your e mail.. we all loved Croatia! We would all go again. The villa was spotless faultless and the host Nicholina was so helpful, friendly approachable and welcoming…very professional in a really personable way. We would probably re book which we never do, although I would probably go a little out of season to pay less! This year was a treat!
Booking through you was reassuring and easier than going through Air B& B or Owners Direct for example……it was nice for me to book with confidence that I was getting all the necessary information I needed for this trip. Your contact was always thorough, detailed and very helpful. Again I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you or use you again.
Thankyou…we had an amazing holiday! Kind Regards, Ellen” August 2021
The period property is very special with an interesting history. The accommodation is superb and the grounds perfect for adults to relax and small children to play. The pool area is lovely and nicely separated from the internal garden by doors that can be securely shut. With small children in our party it was important to know that they could not stray into the pool area without supervision and the inner garden gave them ample space to play. The swings were also a hit. The location is ideal being only 10-15 minutes from Dubrovnik but the villa provides a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the town. Our host, Nikolina, was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and her recommendations never disappointed. One such recommendation, a visit to a local ‘farm’, was an absolute delight. Our hosts – Marin & Katerina – were most gracious and provided us with an amazing meal made from ingredients all sourced from their own garden. They were particularly attentive to the children which made the evening all the more relaxing for the adults. This was our first visit to Croatia and the quality of the accommodation and our wonderful host made the experience all the more special.
“Hi Helen The holiday was great. The villa completely met expectations and the villa owner was particularly welcoming and very helpful. Ana was superb effortlessly, organising trips to meet our needs Dubrovnik is indeed a beautiful destination. You were very easy to work with and responsive in organising this holiday. Kind Regards Jagjit”
“We had high expectations after reading all the 5* reviews and we were not disappointed. The villa creates an air of luxury, space, comfort, history and more, while feeling welcoming and homely. Everyone could have their own space and then gather together by the pool, around the table by the barbeque, on the boule area, etc. As everyone has already mentioned, the owner, Nikolina is definitely 5* and helped to make our stay so special. From her answers to our questions before we arrived, her friendly greeting complimented by the drinks and huge bowl of fruit on our arrival, clean towels mid – week and her help with arrangements to enhance our visit. A week was not long enough to do all we wanted to do, but we would certainly recommend the boat trip and the meal cooked at the villa by Nikolas, the chef – all arranged by Nikolina. The food was sublime. Our thanks also go to Nikolina’s friend, the lady taxi driver who was so helpful and friendly. We had hired 2 cars, but really could have managed with taxis and buses, as parking is virtually impossible. Sue July 2019
“Hi Denise, Thank you for helping us book such a wonderful holiday. Beautiful villa in a terrific area! Nikolina and her family are the owners of the villa and she could not do enough for us during our entire stay. She arranged for transport to and from the airport and booked several wonderful activities and dinners for us. She took us shopping for groceries and even arranged for a dentist to open his office 8:00PM on a Friday night to treat my son for an emergency, taking us to the office and staying with us. The villa is immaculate and the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and pans. It is located in a quiet area but close to the city and the airport. We rented a car for most of the week that allowed us to obtain extra groceries and explore the area, which I would recommend. The Old City is stunning and the people are very friendly! It was a wonderful holiday, one we’ll remember for a long time. All the best” Margaret D, June 2015
“We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay – Nikolina was amazing and made everything run smoothly. We loved being so near to Dubrovnik, the sea was a lovely colour and we enjoyed all the swimming we did. Yours sincerely” B Akerman 2014
“We had a lovely time with the whole family in the Croatia. It was perfect for such a big group. The kids had a fantastic time and we could cordon off parts of the house to ensure they couldn’t ‘escape’ to the pool unsupervised. The little playground was also a delight for the them. Nikolina was a fabulous host and we all enjoyed our time immensely. Cheers” Melissa 2014
“I’ve just been sorting out photos from our wonderful holiday in Croatia and fell that I should email you to let you know just how impressed we were. Nikolina and her family were amazing, we go on villa holidays every year but we’ve never been hosted in such a way before, nothing was too much trouble.” 2014
“We started with our welcome meeting where Nikolina gave us a full set of ideas to keep us busy for the week. She booked everything and then gave us a guided tour of the area to make sure we could find our way around. We had a couple of hiccups during our stay – on day we arrived at the wrong place to catch the water taxi to Dubrovnik. A quick call to Nikolina sorted it out and the taxi (full of other passengers) came to us! On another occasion my daughter felt unwell, Nikolina took us to the medical centre and stayed with us for the whole morning whilst we received medication. She organised a chef to cook for us at home, she took us into the hills to a farm where we had a wonderful meal with a family who didn’t speak English, she leant my husband and friend bikes so that they could go and explore the mountains, she even made cakes for us! Please pass on our warmest wishes and encourage everyone to visit her! Regards” Clare 2014
“We had a fantastic holiday thank you! From the start, Denise was very helpful and understanding of our situation and so I was very pleased with the customer service I received from yourselves. I loved Croatia and Summer Villa was beautiful….. it was everything I had hoped for our holiday and more. The villa, being 16th century was of stunning character and had been renovated beautifully…. I loved the whole inside of the house and it suited all our needs (all 10 of us perfectly), I loved the walled courtyard garden with the lovely flowers and BBQ and spent most evenings sat outside here enjoying the local wine! The pool was perfect and we spent many hours in there – I also liked that we could shut the gate out to the pool so our toddlers couldn’t just wander out there without an adult present. It was such a beautiful peaceful place to spend time, I didn’t want to leave! Nikolina was amazing… she was the perfect host and I really liked her. She welcomed us with food, wine and liqueur that she had made. She took us to show us all the local facilities and places to go. She went over and beyond what she had to, to make us feel welcome and to help us in any way we needed. She told us about places to visit, she arranged for our hire car to be changed when we had problems with it, she even made a birthday cake for my son’s 3rd birthday! Then gave us all a lovely glass gift showing a picture of the villa when we left. I would recommend Croatia, Croatia Gems and Summer Villa to anybody and hope I have the opportunity to return there one day! So thank you very much for making our holiday extra special to us. Kind regards” Emma 2011
“I am glad to report that we had a wonderful week in Croatia. The weather was fantastic (which of course helped) but the best part of our trip was undoubtedly Summer Villa and particularly our hosts who went the extra mile to make our stay so relaxing. Despite having four children under four, we had opted not to hire a car (from an expense point of view)…Our hosts also drove us to the big hyper market to do a large shop and looked after us so well, showing us all the walks to the beach etc, cooking us a meal on our last night and making sure we were ok. They also offered us use of the car for a fee if we needed it. Location wise, we soon discovered the bus stops at the bottom of the hill and we were in Dubrovnik in about 10 mins. The villa is on a hill and has stunning views down to the sea. It is beautiful inside the villa and you can comfortably spend the time at the villa enjoying the views, pool and gardens…The nearest beach is not Mlini, which is a little walk away along the promenade, but are in fact beaches near some war torn hotels which were once some of the best in Croatia. To get to Mlini by foot you can either walk a little way along the main road and then turn off the village before and join the esplanade, or you walk passed the war torn hotels to the beach and join the esplanade a little earlier (which some people may find a little off putting but which we found fascinating). Transport wise, probably it is best to have a car or use of a car, but in fact the main road with buses to and from Dubrovnik is very close and you could get water taxis from Mlini to Dubrovnik and other places along the coast. This was such a wonderful way to travel with children and to be honest this really made our holiday. That and the delightful people who clearly love children. I am so glad we booked this Villa and we will definitely be going back to Croatia very soon. It was a superb holiday and a wonderful location…Thank you again for your help and your recommendations…” Helen C 2011
“Hi Denise, Just a quick note to say we had an amazing time at summer villa, it is truly beautiful 16th century house & Nikolina is the perfect hostess. The children loved playing in the courtyard amongst the flowers or by the pool. We ended up booking the chief for two nights he was so good. I thoroughly would recommend it to anyone looking for a villa in Croatia. Please do pass on my thanks to Nikolina and her family. Kindest Regards” Shelley D May/June 2013
