HVAR ISLAND

Hvar Island is known for its superb old town and attracts those chasing la dolce vita year after year. As it’s famous bar ‘Carpe Diem’ says – seize the day! The sunniest place in the Adriatic, Hvar has it all – vineyards, islands, top class restaurants, nightlife and idyllic coastline. Yet it isn’t all about the high end. Most of the Island of Hvar comes at a slower more simple pace. There are numerous more low key traditional nautical inlets and pretty pine fringed beaches around the island. 

Around Hvar Town itself are a sprinkling of quirky, hidden coves and inlets, popular with the sailing fraternity and those in the know. Find little fishing cottages and wonderful places to eat fresh fish. The Pakleni ISlands off the cost of Hvar Town are also well worth exploring – from trendy to traditional, we’d recommend bohemian Palmizana. Authentic Starigrad and laid back Jelsa Bay for example, and the rugged charm and and lazy turquoise bays around Zarace all make up the rich tapestry of Hvar Island. The more provincial wine and lavendar growing side of the island, with its slower pace of life certainly deserve to be discovered. And make sure to head through the tunnel to the stunning south facing coastline of Sveta Nejila, Ivan Dolac and Zavala for a totally different impression of the island.
